Meet Our Staff

  Chellie Lisenby, CEO

Ms. Lisenby is an educator, administrator and a social entrepreneur. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and a master’s degree from New York University. She has served as the Executive Director of the Bolesta Center in Tampa, Florida, the interim CEO of Auditory-Verbal International in Alexandria, Virginia and as the founder and CEO of the Auditory-Verbal Learning Institute (AVLI).

As a fellow in the Denali Initiative for social enterprise, a national fellowship program developed through the Kauffman Foundation, Ms. Lisenby developed the concept for and launched the Auditory-Verbal Learning Institute as a nonprofit, social enterprise that delivers learning tools across the globe to help babies who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.

Currently Ms. Lisenby is an Adjunct Instructor in the John Sykes School of Business at the University of Tampa.

  Liz Wooten, Program Director

Ms. Wooten is the program director and newest member of the Nonprofit Leadership Center of Tampa Bay team. Prior to moving to Tampa, she lived in Key West where she was born and raised. She takes special pride in being a fifth generation Floridian who grew up dancing in the sun with most of her spare time in her youth spent either in dance class or on the beach.

Ms. Wooten came to the Tampa Bay area in the 1998 to pursue her undergraduate education at the University of South Florida and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary English Education in December 2001. She worked as an educator in the Florida public school system for 3 years teaching both high school and middle school English in Tampa and Key West. She also coached the high school dance team and served as student council sponsor.

In 2004, Ms. Wooten returned to Tampa to attend graduate school at her alma mater. She recently finished her Masters in Public Administration and a Nonprofit Management Certificate at the University of South Florida. Combined with her formal education, her experience in the nonprofit community has evolved over a lifetime. Ms. Wooten has served in a variety of capacities including volunteer, fundraiser and staff for a number of charities in the Tampa Bay and Key West communities. Most recently she worked as a fundraiser for nonprofit agencies such as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Florida Holocaust Museum.

In her spare time, Ms. Wooten volunteers and fundraises for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. A lover of music and the cultural arts she actively supports the local culture by attending local concerts, plays, events, etc. as much as possible. She is a an active member in a variety of organizations and professional associations including the Association of Fundraising Professionals, League of Women Voters, and Emerge Tampa.

  Lorraine Faithful, Office Manager

Ms. Faithful holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Gordon College and Certification in Special Education from Salem State University. She received a Certificate of Completion in University of Hawaii's prestigious Art of Leadership Program. She served as executive director of Sisters Offering Support, a nonprofit organization in Honolulu, Hawaii that assists victims of exploitation in the commercial sex trade.

Ms. Faithful is active in the community through volunteering. She served as the Treasurer on the board of directors for a nonprofit organization in Honolulu that provided support to area nonprofits providing youth services, and as the Publicity Director on the board of Professional Women's Network in Hawaii.
