Grooming the Next Generation of Leaders
The Certificate in Nonprofit Management fills a unique niche among area college and university programs. Interests expressed by Tampa Bay nonprofit and foundation leaders lead to the development of the Certificate in Nonprofit Management because of increasing national concern over nonprofit executive succession. Consider the following:
- 72% of all nonprofit leaders are baby boomers
- 61-78% of nonprofit executives plan to leave their jobs within five years
- 640,000 new senior managers will be needed nationwide over the decade of 2007-2016
- 1,400-1,800 new senior managers will be needed in the Tampa Bay area over the five-year period of 2007-2011 based on segmented national data
